<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nAt some point, another person joined the conversation.\n\nThe topic shifted to completely different ground. A more technical role.\n\nAutomation. SQL. Python\u2026 Python.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Do you want to understand what I felt in that moment?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It felt like the sudden return of something I had deeply missed.\n\nAn area that had seemed out of reach.\n\nLike discovering that the door I thought was closed might still be slightly open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I felt a mix of longing, hope, and excitement. But there was fear too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fear that I didn\u2019t remember enough.\nThat too much time had passed.\nThat I might not be good enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, I knew that if an opportunity like this appears, fear cannot be the thing that stops me. I can be afraid, but I still have to find out how far I can truly go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was a suggestion of a possible technical interview.\n\nI was told to wait for the decision.\nThey assured me I would receive feedback regardless of the outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I waited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the third business day, when there was still no response, I told myself that the next day I would send out another CV somewhere else.\n\nI was slowly preparing my mind for a possible rejection.\n\nI never sent it.\nThe phone rang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was informed that the discussions were still ongoing and that they needed more time. That we would schedule the next conversation within a week at the latest.\n\nThey wanted me to feel comfortable while waiting for the answer.\n\nThat was the first moment I thought this might be something more than just a standard recruitment process.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nI didn\u2019t have to wait a week. The very next day, I heard words that will stay with me for a long time. They weren\u2019t spectacular or dramatic. They simply carried a deep sense of trust.\n\nA decision had been made to create a role for me, one that would better reflect my skills and the direction I wanted to grow in. That was the moment I felt both gratitude and responsibility at the same time. Because trust is always a commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And so, after setting my ego aside and applying for a modest position focused mainly on Excel and PowerPoint, I managed to land that one interview.\nOne interview where I could fully show who I am.\nOne interview that set in motion a process within the company leading to a new path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That one conversation led to the words:\n\n\u201cWelcome to the team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Have the courage to take the less obvious paths.\n\nSometimes, they\u2019re the ones that lead the furthest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
